The meeting brought together companies, researchers and institutions to discuss cooperation opportunities between Brazil and France.
On September 24, in São Paulo, Pecege Internacional and the Center for Advanced Studies on Applied Economics and Environment (Cepam) participated in a meeting promoted by the France-Brazil Chamber of Commerce of São Paulo (CCIFB-SP) and the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (Cirad).
The agenda focused on bringing companies, researchers and institutions closer together, as well as identifying opportunities for scientific cooperation, applied research, innovation and the development of future joint projects between Brazil and France.
Representing Pecege, Maria Alejandra Moreno Pizani, director of International Pecege and coordinator of Cepam, participated in the event. The agenda also included a meeting with Pierre Marraccini, director of Cirad Brazil. Jaqueline Vasconcelos contributed to the institutional coordination of the initiative.
The meeting brought together representatives of organizations linked to topics such as bioeconomy, biodiversity, production chains, forests, territorial development, bioenergy, and sustainability. Examples of collaboration involving companies such as Suzano, Michelin, and Valorhiz were also presented.
This participation expands the international connections of Pecege and Cepam and opens up possibilities for cooperation in research, innovation, education, and sustainability. The closer ties with Cirad can foster the development of applied projects in the areas of agriculture, natural resources, bioeconomy, and territorial development, strengthening the connection between science and the productive sector.
“When we bring science, companies, and institutions closer together, we increase our ability to transform knowledge into concrete solutions. This connection is essential to develop projects with economic, environmental, and social impact and to build more consistent responses to current sustainability challenges,” states Maria Alejandra Moreno Pizani, director of International Pecege and coordinator of Cepam.
