English@USP strengthens English-language education and expands opportunities for the university community

Access to English-language education is an important tool for expanding academic, professional and personal development opportunities. This is the context in which English@USP, an initiative of the University of São Paulo (USP), operates to provide English-language education for its university community.

The project aims to expand language-learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, faculty members and staff at USP. Through free, fully online courses, English@USP provides learning activities, educational materials and academic support, combining flexibility and accessibility to serve participants with different needs and backgrounds.

Beyond developing language skills, the initiative seeks to support academic internationalization. English proficiency facilitates access to scientific output, encourages collaboration among researchers and institutions, and helps students and professionals become better prepared to participate in global knowledge networks and opportunities.

Developed in partnership with different institutions connected to USP, English@USP is part of the university’s efforts to strengthen the education of its community and expand its presence on the international academic stage. The initiative also connects knowledge produced at the university with current demands for education and professional development.
