The climate is counting down for Pecege to occupy its new headquarters, located in the Technological Park of Piracicaba. On December 22 of 2019, Mayor Barjas Negri signed the Compromise Terms that official the destination of an area of 12.536 m² for the installation of the new building.
The expansion will allow Pecege to expand its operational capacity. Currently, the group has about 15 thousand presentials and distance students, spread throughout the national territory, and in countries on the American, European, African and Asian continents.
In a note released by the Piracicaba City Hall, Mayor Barjas Negri pointed out that the concession will allow Pecege to expand its scientific development center and offer new technology courses, both graduation and postgraduate, in a place that is becoming a a “knowledge cluster”, in reference to AgTech Garage, a high-tech hub that is giving the municipality the title of Vale do Agronegócio Brasileiro.
The president of Pecege, Professor Pedro Valentin Marques, praised the City Hall’s willingness to encourage the expansion of higher education and postgraduate education, and presented surprising numbers on the last international symposium, held on 19 and 21 of this month.
“There were 1,850 postgraduate presentantions boards, 54 lectures, book launch and a cultural festival that gathered about 5 thousand people, from all Brazilian states, in addition to the United States and Japan,” noted Marques. According to him, the projection is that, with the headquarters of the Pecege ready, the event will have the ability to gather about 4 thousand presentations, putting Piracicaba as the municipality with the largest number of final papers presentations boards.
